Edith Hejl Obituary
Edith Ann Hejl (Heidenheimer) Edith Ann Hejl, 81, entered into Heaven on 1/28/2019- she was at peace and with her beloved daughter-in-law. Born Edith Fronek on 12/28/1937 to Frank and Annie (Zajicek) Fronek in the Lilac, TX, community, she attended Sharp and Bartlett schools. Edith worked at Baugh's Shoe Factory and then for Scott and White in the laundry department- she attended night school at Temple Junior College and obtained a Executive Secretary job within Scott and White- where she worked a total of 20 years before retiring.
She then worked at St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was a dedicated member and Secretary for 22 years before retiring in 2010. She truly loved her work and put her heart in to everything she did. She also loved animals- she had dogs, cats, and worked cattle up into her 70s. Our Mom/Nana is known and will be remembered for her kindness to all she came in contact with and her classy church business attire by day- coverall and straw hat farmer look by evening.
She had a secret sense of humor for those who were paying attention. She was a strong, independent woman and she loved her kids and grandkids dearly. Her favorite thing to do was spoil her grandkids with all things sweet: sweet tea, ice cream, and handfuls of candy. She is fiercely loved and will be missed every day. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond Fronek.
She is survived by her sons, Bradley Hejl and wife Vicki, Russell Hejl and wife Pam; grandchildren, Beverly Hejl, Ethan Hejl, and Jennifer Guerra; and great-grandchildren, Cheyann and Ayden Crist; and many other extended family and friends. Hewett-Arney in Temple is in charge of arrangements. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Temple.
Visitation will begin one hour before the service at the church with the Rosary beginning at 9:00am. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Tony Jeter and the Mercy House caregivers and staff for providing our sweet Mom/Nana love and safety and providing us with comfort and support up until her last day.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple, TX, the Lewy Body Dementia Association, or charity of your choice. "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant'!" Matthew 25:21.
