He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Athey and Alyne Athey; and his siblings, David and Lucille Athey. He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Doyle Athey of Blountville, TN, Kristopher Dale Athey of Belton, Dedra Athey Stevens of Belton and Vicki Lynn Athey of Temple. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
