He was predeceased by: his father Carlos Ruiz; and his brother Richard Ruiz. He is survived by: his mother Florinda Ruiz (Duran) of Austin; his children, Angelica Cagley of Rhode Island, Sarah Archer of New Mexico, Michelle Griffith of Arizona, Carlos Ruiz III of New Mexico and Michael Ruiz of Round Rock; and his siblings, Mary Jane Ruiz of Austin and Robert Ruiz of Austin. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
