He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Newton Oliver and Ethel Maude Oliver; his daughter-in-law Traci Whitney Oliver; his granddaughter Aimee Dale Oliver; his wife Betty Jean Oliver of Temple, TX; his sons, Joe Lewayne Oliver (Dicque) of Temple, TX, Jamie Ray Oliver (Gloria) of Temple, TX, Jackie Dale Oliver (Rhonda) of Smithwick, TX and Jeffrey Wade Oliver (Donna Hine) of Sugar Land, TX.; and his cousin Huberta Oliver Mora of Friendswood, TX. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews.
