He was predeceased by: his parents, George Elmer and Fannie May Johnson (Furlow); his wife Frances Shields; his son Charles Elmer; and his siblings, George, Raymond, Hazel and Betty.
He is survived by: his children, Richard (Janis) of Tehuacana, Janet Bulger (Kenny) of Fairfield and Karen Tanner (Ronnie) of Donie; his siblings-in-law, Vera Johnson of Irving, Brenda Shields of Fairfield and Johnny Shields (Pat) of Lake Mexia; and his grandchildren, Shelly Pfleeger, James, Kenneth Bulger, Donna, Jamie Gragg, Michael, Stephanie Meyers, Randy, Ronnie J. Tanner, Caitlin, Kayla Andrean, Lucas, Bryan Tanner and Natya. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; and three great-great granddaughters with a great-great grandson.
