He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Newsom and Emma Newsom; his former wife Lois Newsom; his siblings, Ralph Newsom and Mary Frances Franklin; and his son-in-law Elbert Manor.
He is survived by: his wife Parthena Newsom of Buffalo; his daughters, Nina Manor of Streetman and Jan Baker (David) of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Roger Grube, Dan Grube (Heather), Brooklyn Baker Ross (Blake), Bryson Baker and Lauren Baker; his great grandchildren, John Henry Grube and Starla Grube; his stepson Herbert Roach (Theresa); his stepgrandchildren, Mandy Roach and Herbert Allen Roach, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Billy Steele. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
