He was predeceased by: his father Edward "Yankie" Tealer; his brother Louis Tealer; his grandparents, Alfred, Mattie Mae Collins, Robert and Lucile Tealer; his brother-in-law John Defreitas; his niece Camille Tealer; and his aunts and uncles, Margaret Seaborn, Doris Jackson-Wiggins, Kenneth Tealer, Charles Tealer, Rev. Eddie Tealer and Alex Arnold.
He is survived by: his mother Alice Tealer; his daughter Keovanie Tealer (Melanie Clark); and his brothers, Edward Tealer Jr., Timmie Tealer, Christopher Tealer, Kim Tealer (Angie) and Kelly Tealer. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
