He was predeceased by: his brothers, John and Robert Pavlásek. He is survived by: his siblings, Virgil Pavlásek (Sharon) and Jeanette Looka (Larry); his children, Richard Pavlásek Jr. (Darby), Mary Ann Krueger, Linda Martin, Virginia Brouillette (Thomas) and James Pavlásek (Andrea); his grandchildren, Travis Krueger (Rebecca), Stephanie Carruth (Adam), Stacy Farrow (Tyler), Harrison Pavlásek (Lauren) and Connor Martin; his great grandchildren, Kyler, Kolton Krueger, Emma, Blake Farrow and Ryan Carruth; and also Velma Pavlásek (López).

For this, he received an American Association of Blood Banks Award on his 10 gallon milestone and the Jan Janský Medal in the Czech Republic, which acknowledges the saving of life through blood donation.
