He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Safarik and Gertrude Safarik; his son Bret Safarik; and his brother Arnie. He is survived by: his son Kent Safarik; his wife Katy Walther of Mary's Catholic Church; his grandson John; his daughter-in-law Mindy; his grandson Benjamin (Ben); and his sisters-in-law, Wandeen Sakewitz and Paula Safarik.
