He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Maruska (Pavelka) and George Maruska. He is survived by: his wife Annette Veselka of Taylor; his children, Yvette and Matt (Kendi); his grandchildren, Cole (Meagan), Gage, Gunner, Tori and Tess; and his great grandchild Lindley. He is also survived by his family and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Providence Funeral Home (807 Carlos G Parker Blvd NW, Taylor, TX 76574). A rosary was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (301 E 4th St, Taylor, TX 76574). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (301 E 4th St, Taylor, TX 76574).

Beyond his contributions to the Knights of Columbus, he was also an active member of the St. Mary's School Parish Council, playing a vital role in shaping the St. Mary school's growth as it became a highly regarded school of education.
