He was predeceased by: his parents, Cruz Alderete and Amparo Alderete; and his siblings, Elenor Carmona and Cruz Alderete, Jr.. He is survived by: his siblings, Gloria Villarreal (Crestino), Rebecca Alderete, Orfelina Villalobos (Elias), Elizabeth Longoria (Joe), Rosa Burton (Edward), Rodolfo (Lydia), Robert, Saul, David (Mary Helen) and Daniel (Martha); his niece Rebecca Alderete; and also Steven Alderete. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and began the battle but on September 2, 2020, he took his last breath and went home to meet his Heavenly Father.
