He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Pepper and Willie Belle Pepper; his siblings, Mary Pepper, Cindy Lou Pepper, Linda English of Marshall and Don Pepper; his son Matthew Aaron Pepper; and his grandson Thomas John "TJ" Pepper.

He is survived by: his wife Cindy Pepper; and his sons, Steve Pepper (Kathy), Mark Pepper (Nikki) and Wes Shue (Shawn). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends.
