She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Butler Smith, Sr. and Lena Mae McClelland Smith; her husband Harry Ernest Bachtell, Jr.; her siblings, Elsie Merle Smith, Ruby Lee Musick, Helen Fowler, Rita Louise Watson and Charles Butler Smith, Jr.; and her children, Harry Ernest Bachtel, III and Claire-Jo Antoinette Grimaldo.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Annastazia Bachtell of Brookhaven, Irick Bachtell of Brookhaven, Harry Bachtell, IV of Brookhaven, Katrina Goldbaum of McComb, MS and Anastasia Grimaldo of Tatum; her great grandchildren, Xzavier, Connor, Lilli, Eavenly, Emily, Alixzander and Kahlan; her siblings, James August Smith (Mary Nell) of Brookhaven and Frances Ileen Allred of Brookhaven; and her daughter-in-law Kathy Bachtell of Brookhaven.
