She was predeceased by: her parents, Alejandro Olivas and Josefa Olivas. She is survived by: her husband Daniel Vela; her daughter Cynthia Gonzalez (David Gonzalez); her grandsons, Beniah Gonzalez of Sweetwater, Texas. and Raines Gonzalez of Sweetwater, Texas.; and her sister Lila Matta of Balmorhea, Texas.. She is also survived by three brothers, three sisters, two nephews and four nieces.
