He was predeceased by: his father Tomas "Tony" Bernal; and his brother Johnny M. Gonzales. He is survived by: his mother Gloria Bernal (Molina) of Sweetwater, Texas; his wife Carrie Bernal of Sweetwater, Texas; his children, Samantha Andrews (Brian), Rebecca Rooney (Alex), Bailey Keener (Ryan), Brian Bernal (Ashley) and Drake Bernal; his grandchildren, Alissa, Bentley, Amelia, Aaron, Bonnie, Levi, Jordan, Emmerson, Greyson, Adalynn and Rafe; and his siblings, Freddy DeLeon (Sherry) of Sweetwater, Texas, Fabian DeLeon (Mona) of San Antonio, Lano DeLeon (Juanita) of Sweetwater, Texas, Erlinda DeLeon (Jessie) of Sweetwater, Gloria McDonald (Kevin) of Las Vegas, Mary Petersen (Eric) of Andrews and Queenie "Bee" Bernal of Midland, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home (403 Locust St, Sweetwater, TX 79556). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Lamar Street Baptist Church (513 Lamar St, Sweetwater, TX 79556).
