He was predeceased by: his parents, Emoran Owen and Sallie Bee McDonell (England). He is survived by: his former wife Anita Irene Smith; his wife Theda Rister Hanshew of Sweetwater; his children, Debra Gail Boerman (Kenneth John) of Arizona, Brenda Lynn May (Loyal) of Colorado and Martin Curtis McDonell, Sr. (Donna) of Sweetwater; his stepchildren, Charles, Gerry, Terry Hanshew and Amanda Inman; and his grandchildren, Martin Curtis McDonell, Jr., Cody Tyler McDonell, Kendra Boerman, Beau Boerman, Anita Belden, Penny Magana and Shante Woolett. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren and numerous step-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McCoy Funeral Home (401 E 3rd St, Sweetwater, TX 79556). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Broadway Baptist Church (710 E 3rd St, Sweetwater, TX 79556).
