It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loyce Baxter of Sweetwater, Texas, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Monroe and Mattie Thorp (Morgan); her husband Buddy Baxter; her daughter Julie Ann Baxter Wilkinson; her sisters, Ella Mae Rankin, Ruth Collier, Lillian Thorp and Joyce Reed; and also Carl Thorp, Jr..
She is survived by: her son Shane Baxter (Annis) of Sweetwater; her grandchildren, Lance Baxter (Tasha), Kelcee Drake (Dustin) and Jace Baxter (Rani); her son Chad Baxter (Charlene); and her grandchildren, Skyler Baxter (Kristen), Scott Baxter (Brettney) and Maegen Joiner (Lance). She is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home (403 Locust St, Sweetwater, TX 79556). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Garden (6412 I-20, Sweetwater, TX 79556).
