It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lester Ray Batteas (Sweetwater, Texas), born in Hammon, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 13, 2019, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dessie and Oneta Batteas (Duncan); and his daughters, Shari Leach and Rita Joyce Goodnight. He is survived by: his wife Frances Batteas of Sweetwater; his son Lester Batteas, Jr. of Sweetwater; his siblings, Linton Batteas of Cisco, Alene Ebeling (Donald) of Plainview, Donnie Cosby of Abilene and Dorislyn Gragg (Kenneth) of Abilene; and his son-in-law Darrell Goodnight of Sweetwater. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
