He was predeceased by: his father Guadalupe Alaniz; and his brothers, Guadalupe Jr. and Alfonzo. He is survived by: his mother Adelaide Alaniz; his children, Joe Alaniz Jr. (Rachel) and Mandi Alaniz (Andres); his grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Drayson, Nevaeh, Jaylie, Alexis, Trinity, Anthony, Adrian, Isaac, Lilly, Aaron and Xavier; and his siblings, David, Jesse, Pauline and Rosamaria. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
