We are sad to announce that on March 15, 2021, at the age of 88, Douglas Gates of Sweetwater, Texas, born in Abilene, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Gates and Vida Gates; and his sister Helen Taylor. He is survived by: his siblings, Evelyn Rich and Jerry Wyatt; his wife Doris Gates; his children, Melinda Gayler (Don), Margaret Gates and Steve Gates (Mitzi); his grandchildren, Shelley Gayler-Smith, Austin Hendricks and Liberty Gates; and his great grandchildren, Owen Hendricks and Sadie.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, masks preferred.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Veteran organization of your choice.
