He is survived by: his daughters, Layla Ornelas-McDorman (Rick) of Hillsboro and Crystal McDorman Williams of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Peyton Atkins, Rian Hill, Ethan, Rhiannon Bledsoe, Mea and Mya McDorman Williams; his sister Kay Dalbert (David) of Abilene; his nephew Brandon Benbow (Chantel); his niece Bethany Purdun (Andrew); his great-nephews, Skyler and AJ; his brother Ernest "Chino" Melendez; his daughter Shirley Marie Gutierrez; and his grandchildren, Toreyna, Layla and Tristan. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
