He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Estes and Johnnie Marie Patterson; and his siblings, Patsy Alston, Joan Davis and Jesse Patterson.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Patterson; his sister-in-law Kay Patterson; his stepdaughter Rhonda Feagan; his children, Matt Patterson (Kelli), Beau Patterson (Carol) and Heather Gates (Larry); his grandchildren, Cooper Patterson (Ashlee), Cameron Klika (Dustin), Caden Patterson, Katherine Willett (Kyle) and Sadie Gates; and his great grandchildren, Jasper, Charlie Patterson, Campbell, Carrington Klika, Eli and Madeline Willett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
