He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Miles Graves (Elsie Armstrong McCorkle Graves) and Elsie Graves; his brothers, Boyd LeRoy Graves and John Graves; his son Merrill Dean Graves; his grandson Dylan Miles Graves; his nieces and nephews, Robert Frank Graves, Richard Ralph Orwig, III (Rick), Donna Graves Beagley Koehn and Connie Graves Bodenschatz Hada (Harold Hada); his great-niece Mary Lynn Graves; his great-nephew Dustin Miles Graves; his parents-in-law, David and Susie Lemon; his sister-in-law Alice Jean Lemon; and his aunts and uncles, McCorkle and Bassham.
He is survived by: his wife Jerry Lemon Graves; his children, David Verdon Graves (Danita Bronson Graves), Boyd Miles Graves, II (Lynn Lowman Pugsley) and Elsianne Graves Horton (Darrell Wayne Horton); his siblings-in-law, Patsy Ann Lemon Orwig (Richard Ralph) and William Rawlings Lemon (Martha); his great grandchildren, Jaxon Chaney, Austin Chaney, Brynna Irving, Addison Graves, Duncan Graves, Devyn Pugsley, Brook Pugsley and Ashton Brown; his nieces and nephews, Patricia "Pat" Graves Ritter (Jack Ritter), Coy Schuster Graves, Roger Graves (Jeannette Stauffer Graves), Carolyn Graves Craig Beagley (Steve Beagley), Jerry Koehn, Michael Graves (Myra Rowell Graves), Jan Graves, Liz Lemon Rodrigues (J. P. Rodrigues) and Cari Lemon; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cathy Miller, Timothy Miller, Sherrie Graves, Derrick Graves, Stephen Craig, Kimberly Craig Moore, Chrystal Craig Hamblin, Jennifer Bodenschatz Hess, Tanya Bodenschatz Hada Franklin, Katina Beagley, Clinton Beagley, Kimberly Koehn, Kelly Koehn, Dana Hodge and Jennie Hodge; and his friends, Bernie Beers, Hosey, Barbara Law, Ken, Bonnie Burtch, Odice, Wanda Jenkins and Verdon.
One year he was given the honor of Citizen of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce, Volunteer of the Year by RSVP, and many other awards by various groups in our community.
