He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Travis Hill and Anna Lou Hill (Bryant); his wife Clara Goodson; and his son Henry Hill. He is survived by: his children, Rita Greer (Mark) and Dewayne Cockrell (Billie); his grandchildren, Charlie "Tex" Hill (Rachel), Susan Hill Mooney (John), Amberly Greer, Brandon Cockrell, Erin and Cody Cockrell (Amanda); and his sisters, Reva Hill, Norma Denton and Vivian Dalton (Kenneth). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
