He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Gilbreath and Lydia Gilbreath; his wife Bernice Gilbreath; his stepsons, Gary Adams and Charlie Glass; his brother Robert D. Gilbreath; his stepfather Robert Mullins; his brother-in-law Lonnie Haynes; and his pets, Bart and Baby.

He is survived by: his children, Charles Gilbreath of Quitman, Texas, Stacie Hebert of Westlake and Dana Peeples (Tim) of Saltillo, Texas; his daughter-in-law Becky Glass of Commerce, Texas; his grandchildren, Tisha Young (Eddie), CJ Glass (Amber), Adam Hermann, Steven Glass (Virginia), Billy Glass, Austin Hebert, Kaitlyn Hebert, Aiden Shannon, Zander Shannon, Sam Heston Peeples, Landon Peeples, Brittney Peeples, Cody Peeples and Alex Ferrell; his siblings, Truitt Gilbreath (Beulah) of Crowley, Robert Mullins (Deanna) of Caldwell and Juanita Haynes of Irving, Texas; and his brother-in-law Ed Crump (Betty) of Pecan Gap, Texas. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren.
