She was predeceased by: her parents, Andes Emmitt Simpson Jr. and Effie Irene Jennings; her stepmother Rosa Lee Simpson (James); and her siblings, Billy Wayne Simpson, Andy Simpson, Richard Simpson and Linda Roberts.
She is survived by: her husband Walter L. McWhirter; her children, Randy McWhirter of Seguin, Terri Lynch (Ernest) of McKinney, Gina Bruton (Derrick) of McKinney and Susan Tully Pate Adams of Katy; her grandchildren, Brittney Pate (Jarail Johnson) of Haslet, Melissa Adams of Denton, Annelise Lynch of Houston, Nathan Lynch of Houston, Kale Bruton of Richardson and Reid Bruton of Dripping Springs; and her great grandchildren, Braxton of Haslet, Charley of Haslet and Jace of Haslet.
