He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mark "Bill" Spence and Lillie Mae Spence (Thomas); his sisters, Lavinia Spence Maus and Virginia Spence Byrd; his brother-in-law Tommy Moss; his parents-in-law, AnnaBelle Moss and Leroy Moss; and his grandson Ryan Spence.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Moss Spence (Moss); his children, Mark Spence (Deloris Beck), Michael Spence (Melissa), Cindy Bledsoe (Trey Phillips) and Mitchell Spence (Laura); his grandchildren, Reed DeFever (Heidi), Spencer DeFever, Kristen Bunn (Cody), Ashlee Spence, Jake Spence and Nick Bledsoe; his great grandchildren, Madelain DeFever and Blake DeFever; his sisters, Marcie Spence Petty, Sally Spence and Sue Spence Bird; and his children-in-law, Ikuko Nakamoto and Lance DeFever. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and brother and sister in laws.
