He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Roy and Allie Almedia Darden Petrea; his wife Murlene Petrea; his grandchildren, Shiloh Vaughn and Josh Vaughn; and his siblings, A. E. Petrea, Willie D. Petrea, Mattie Lou Petrea Baker, Roy Petrea and Glenna Hargrave.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Darlene and Harold Dean Petrea; his son-in-law John Vaughn; his grandchildren, Jason, Patty Vaughn and Nicole Vaughn; and his great grandchildren, Natalie, Jackson, Rhett, Casen, Carson and Blakely Vaughn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
