He was predeceased by: his parents, Haskell Knight and Alice Knight (Frazier); his friends, Michael Carnes of Sulphur Springs and Gaylon Odom; his brother Doyce Knight of Emory; his wife Shirley Hector Knight; his stepson Kevin Plunkett; his aunts, Opal, Lois and Ruby; and his cousin Gene Frazier.

He is survived by: his daughters, Julie Ann Knight of Brashear and Kristi Lynn Knight of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and his grandchildren, Christian Alexander Plunkett of Sulphur Springs, Shawn Aubrey Dennis of Satillo, Grayson Connor Routh and Maurley Sawyer Routh of Sulphur Springs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
