He is survived by: his wife Judy Kay Chapman; his children, Stephen Frank Gillem (Kimberlea) and Sara Kathryn (Clifton Carpenter Haggard); his grandsons, Mason Keith Gillem, Seth Chapman Gillem, Clifton Gillem Haggard and Frank Carpenter Haggard; and his sisters, Jeannie Lockhart (Bill) and Linda Blunt (Luke). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
