He is survived by: his wife San Juanita "Gina" Canales of McAllen; his sons, Andrew Canales of Sullivan City, Xavier Hughes (Clarissa) of McAllen, Elijah Hughes of McAllen and Isaiah Hughes (Denise) of Alamo; his granddaughters, Andrea Canales of Pharr and Raiden Hughes of McAllen; his parents, Yolanda Canales and Ildefonso Canales of Sullivan City; and his siblings, Maria Santos Chacon (Jose Luis) of Palmview, Ildefonso Canales (Maria) of Sullivan City and Jose Raquel Canales (Nicole) of Sullivan City. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews; one great-niece; one great-nephew.
