He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold E. Welker and Laura Durning Welker; his wife Judy; and his siblings, Charles Welker, Robert Welker and Nancy Welker Cusack.

He is survived by: his daughters, LeaAnne Welker Klentzman (Jim) of Richmond and Lynette Welker Pierce (Mark) of Richmond; and his grandchildren, CorrieLee Klentzman (Jonathan) of Austin, Katherine Klentzman (Brent) of Austin and William Thomas Pierce (Will-Thomas) of Richmond. He is also survived by his grandfather, as well as many of his nieces and nephews.
