She was predeceased by: her parents, James Bate Thomas and Minnie Lee Williams; her husband James Amos Tillman Sr.; her siblings, Cuma Lee McKinney, Ruby Lee Parks, Patricia Ann Roberson, George Johnson and Frank Thomas; and her daughter Anita Louise Tillman.

She is survived by: her siblings, Shirley Coburn, Stella Louise Richards, Linda Johnson, Carolyn Bobb, Dorothy Marie Thomas, Cassandra Williams and Michael Thomas; and her children, Debra Ann, James Amos Jr., Nancy Delmar, Gwendolyn, Carol Ann, David Julius, Freida Lynn and Brian Earnest. She is also survived by spouses, eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
