He was predeceased by: his father James Monroe; and his brothers, Jack and Garland Hicks (Suzanne Irby Hicks). He is survived by: his mother Pebble Cottrell Hicks; his children, Lise Schwartzkopf (Lee), Kimberly Salch (Clayton) and Chad Hicks (Rainey); his grandchildren, Jason Schwartzkopf, Blake Schwartzkopf (Andrea), Alexandra Salch Kimbrough (Aaron), Parker Hicks and Katherine Hicks (Kappy); and his child Shirley M. Hicks.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel (1201 4th St, Rosenberg, TX 77471).
