He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Doty and Eva Joe Doty (Nettles); his wife Billye Frances Wells; his daughter-in-law Sheila Doty; his granddaughter Amanda Mapp; his great grandchild Courtlynn Doty; his sons-in-law, Billy Gore and Larry Schmitt; and his siblings, J. C. Doty, Kelton Doty, Tokie Doty, Doris Jean Renfro and Quida Carruth.
He is survived by: his children, David Doty of Littlefield, Donald Doty of Lubbock, Texas, Karen Gore of Sudan and Jo Gaye Schmitt of Hobbs; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Gore, Dennis Gore, Daniel Doty, Crystal Munoz and Amy Demory. He is also survived by his seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ellis Funeral Home - Sudan (122 N Main St, Sudan, TX 79371). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sudan Cemetery.
