With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mattie Lou Baskin of Stratford, Texas, who passed away on December 23, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rollo Newman and Virtena McDowell Newman; her husband Tommy Frank Baskin; her siblings, Lowell, Ned, Dan and Betty Jo Johnson; and her nephews, Lowell Dean Newman and Donald Newman.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Steven (Sandy), Robert Michael (Christian) and Lucy; her siblings, Bob, Roy Lee Newman, Kathryn Newman and Patricia Vigneau; and her grandchildren, Amy Kinkel, T. D. Baskin, Melissa Edwards, Megan Zamzow, Cindy Sanchez, Hillary Killingsworth, Holly O'Berem, Carla German, Allison Tumlinson and Isaac Gerken. She is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Stratford, or Coldwater Manor of Stratford, or the Sherman County Library.
