He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Bustamante and Irma Bustamante (Ramirez); his son Isaac Bustamante; and his brothers, Javier Bustamante, Pedro Bustamante, Jr., Lauro "Betin" Bustamante and Johnny Dillard.
He is survived by: his wife Angelica Bustamante; his sons, Miguel Bustamante, Jr. (Rebecca) and Gabriel Bustamante (Chelsea); his grandchildren, Melissa Quintanilla (Cameron), Ross Valenzuela (Erica), Logan Bustamante, Leland Bustamante and Laney Bustamante; his great grandchildren, Caroline Valenzuela, Claire Valenzuela, Joe Valenzuela, Hendrix Quintanilla and Miles Quintanilla; his siblings, Hilda Bustamante Love (Charles), San Juanita Starr (Michael) and Veronica Perez (Arthur); and his aunt Olga Canales. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
