He was predeceased by: his parents, Guadalupe Sotelo and Valentina Palacios Sotelo; his wife Paula Sotelo; his son James Daniel Sotelo; his grandchildren, Marcos and Audrey; his siblings, Jose Ma, Rosa Maria and Ernestina; and his daughter-in-law Kendra.
He is survived by: his sons, Juan Sotelo, Jr. (ReBecca) of Amarillo and Joe Sotelo of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Michael, Victoria, Aaliyah and Miguel; his great grandchildren, Emerald and Amethyst; and his siblings, Pedro Sotelo (Juana) of Benbrook, Lupe Sotelo (Maria) of Aledo and Uvaldina Mesa (Chinto) of Mexico. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
