Russell Lynn Holmes January 17, 1955 –October 15, 2016 Russell Lynn Holmes, 61, of Stephenville, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 in Fort Worth. Russell was born on January 17, 1955 in Brewton, Alabama where he was adopted and raised by his parents, Carl and Madeline Holmes. He married the love of his life, Janice Cook on July 5, 1991 in Weimer, Texas.

Russell loved spending time with family when he was not on the road, where he spent 49 years as a trucker. He has resided in Stephenville for the past 7 months after previously living in El Campo. Russell will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Janice Holmes of Stephenville; daughter, Skye Holmes-Garza of Yoakum; sons, Steven Homes, and Jason Homes of Yoakum, and Paul Elliott of Fayette, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Pamela Dickens of Mobile, Alabama; and his biological mother, JoAnn Pettis of Mobile, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Madeline Holmes; and a sister, Esther Mae Holmes. As per his wishes no services are planned at this time.
