He was predeceased by: his parents, Concepcion Vargas and Natalia Cardenas Vargas; and his daughter Alicia Vargas. He is survived by: his wife Catalina Vargas; his children, Estella Patlan (Jesse), Isidro Vargas (Teresa), Gloria Montoya (Santiago), Felix Vargas (Juanita), Guadalupe Ramos (Gabriel), Martin Vargas, Julian Vargas, Marciela Vargas and Ana Vargas-Djoke (Herve); his nephew Sacramentó Barron (Maria); and his sister Elena Vargas of Mexico City. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 34 great- grandchildren.
