Larry Keith Cozart Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that Kristie and I announce the passing of our dad, Larry Keith Cozart, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Mitchell Cemetery with Glenn Murray officiating.
Larry was born in Lamesa, Dawson County, Texas to Otho C. Cozart & Gladys Opal Rhyne, where they owned and operated a laundry mat. Larry attended public schools in Lamesa and graduated in 1962 from Dublin High School.
In July 1966, Larry married Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Taylor in Cisco, Tx. Larry and Mary raised 2 daughters. Larry had a 32 year career with Southwestern Bell as Telephone Repair Technician. Larry was part of various community organizations throughout his life including Albany Jaycees (which gathered up rattle snakes for the round up) and Cisco Kiwanis. He was a lifetime member of NRA, an avid hunter, fisherman, loved riding ATVs with his daughter Kristie and grandchildren, and a collector of all things unique.
He was preceded in death his parents, Otho C. & Gladys Opal Rhyne Cozart, and one grandson Matthew Justin Bint.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Taylor Cozart, daughters Kristie Bint of Stephenville and Karen (Tim) Daniel of Lubbock: six grandchildren Kari (Kevin) Vogler of Canyon Lake, Paden (Starla) Bint of Cisco, Hayley (Chris) Easterman of Lubbock, Faith (Creighton) Henderson of Wellington, and Taylor Brooks and Catherine Brooks of Abilene; eight great-grandchildren Raylie, Avery, Evelynn, Raiden, Kolbie, Alice, Matt Wayne, and Peyton; two brothers Travis (Johnnie) Cozart of Stephenville, and Stanley (Linda) Cozart of Midland and multiple cousins.
