He was predeceased by: his parents, N. N. Newman and Vashti Newman; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Head, Ed Griffin and Gilbert White.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Albrecht; his sisters, Wynelle Head, Augusta Griffin and Lavida White; his children, Zonelle Myers (Richard), Terri Guinn (David), Mark Newman (Nancy) and Paula Pope (Kevin); his grandchildren, Toby Poore (Trisha), Kallie Newman, Maddie Lewis (Wes), Emma Guinn and Kelby Pope; and his great grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler Poore. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
