With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gay Truss McCormick (Stephenville, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 17, 2025 at the age of 93. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Gay had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Gay may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Abbie Lee and William Truss (Bud); her siblings, Geneva Painter, William Truss and Tom Truss; her husband John Mack McCormick; her son Johnny Ray McCormick; and her great great grandchild Levi Hayes Morrison.
She is survived by: her daughters, Geneva Lynne Hamilton (Rickey) of Stephenville, TX, Melba Ann Montague (Ray) of Clovis, NM and Connie Gay McCormick of Stephenville, TX. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel (120 W South Loop, Stephenville, TX 76401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at the West End Cemetery.
