It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettie Jo (Mayfield) Evans (Stephenville, Texas), born in Ballinger, Texas, who passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Hampton and Emily Hampton (Hughes); her former spouses, Gayl Edwards and Cleo Mayfield; her husband James Robert Evans, Jr.; her son Bobby Richard Edwards; and her granddaughter Cristina Denise Mayfield.
She is survived by: her sons, Stanley M. Mayfield (Beckey) of Fort Worth, Texas, Tony Evans (Sharon) of Granbury, Texas and Alva Kennedy of Comanche, Texas; her grandson Derrick Mayfield of Austin, Texas; and her great grandchildren, Caroline Mayfield and David Mayfield.
