He was predeceased by: his wife Jo Ann Jones; his daughter Debbie Raney; his parent Mary Sparks Jones; his brother Leroy Jones; and his grandson Joshua Jones.

He is survived by: his children, Donald Jones, Lisa Ford Longbotham, Suzanne King Fleming, Nathan Simmons (Eddie) and Sandy Erickson. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Robert's memory to LLL/First Baptist Church of Mesquite.
