He was predeceased by: his parents, Eustacio Hernandez and Agnes Hernandez; his son Carlos Hernandez; and his brothers, Gregorio Hernandez, Geronimo Hernandez and Rolando Hernandez.

He is survived by: his wife Connie Hernandez; his son David Hernandez (Mona); his grandchildren, Tori Benson (Matt), Jalen Hernandez (Alissa Anders) and Alyssa Hernandez; his great grandchild Ari Noel Benson; and his siblings, Juan Hernandez (Elena), Fernando Hernandez (Orfa), Elva Rios (Roy) and Estolia Arriaga (Robert).
