He is survived by: his wife Margaret Smart; his sons, Johnny Shane Smart (Emma Smart) of Arkansas and Everett Todd Smart of Spurger; his grandchildren, John Richard Smart, Kara Smart of Katy and Emily Grace Smart of Arkansas; and his siblings, Emmalee Thornton (Caye) of Woodville, Shiela Harmon (Thurmon) of Ohio, Robin Smart (Renea) of Ohio, David Smart of Silsbee and Kevin Smart of Kountze. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
