He was predeceased by: his parents, Joan Louise and Harlan Howard; his brother Ronnie Howard; his brother-in-law Garry Jones; his daughter Megan Jones; and his mother-in-law Cheryl Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Jones Howard; his sister Connie Howard Jones; his children, Jamie (Jim Pike), Michele (Johnny Ferguson) and Brandon Jones; his grandchildren, Christina O'Connor, Jimmy Pike, Kailey Hand, Chelsea Pike, John Ferguson and Abby Ferguson; and his nieces, Lisa Jones Gardner and Leslie Jones Stephens.
