She was predeceased by: her husbands, Bill and Billy Joe Martin; her sister Annie Ruth Plumlee; and her parents, Edgar Chilcutt and Murl Beene Chilcutt.
She is survived by: her siblings, Murlene Baker of Victoria, TX and Tommy Chilcutt (Kim); her brother-in-law Howard Plumlee (Paulette); and her children, Mike Martin (Debbie), Les Martin (Kathy), Diane Allen and Pam Mason (Jim). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She loved playing Chicken Foot with "The Girls" every Saturday, and prior to the pandemic, she played with a group of sweet ladies on Game Day each week.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Verna's memory to North Side Baptist Church - Building Fund, 910 N. Main St., Weatherford, TX 76086.
