He was predeceased by: his parents, Elzie Ray Stokes and Eva Belle Stokes; and his wife Patricia Hays of Pat's Skateland. He is survived by: his children, Scott Stokes (Linda) and Toyia Stokes Winters (Mark); his siblings, Carroll Stokes (Joan) and Norma Farley (Paul); his granddaughters, Jessica Murray and Kelsey Baker; and his great grandchild Caroline Murray.
